Our Approach

Focus on Mission, Deliverables, and Value
At Sierra Peaks, we are focused on customer missions and deliverables. We understand your need to get a good value for your investments. By understanding your business process, we can design and optimize with the end mission in mind.

We always start our kickoff meetings with introductions, then work backwards from some strategic point in the future and try to understand how this work will help get you where you want to be. This approach helps clarify the obstacles, risks, tradeoffs, and payoffs.

Once we've got a good grasp on the issue, we focus on the requirements. For simple problems, we should be able to define very specific requirements, allowing the design team to zero in on technical solutions. For more complex problems, we often need to identify risks and unknowns and conduct some preliminary research before fine-tuning the requirements and deliverables.

Flexibility is Our Middle Name
Some customers require a vast amount of documentation to accompany the design and prototyping, while others need to get their prototype as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Sierra Peaks has the flexibility to meet this range of requirements while staying focused on providing the best value. If documentation is a deliverable, we produce it as effectively as possible. When documentation is not a deliverable and the project is simple, a designer may work hand-in-hand with a craftsman without a set of drawings. Most typically, the design team will design items on the computer and conduct test simulations when possible. Appropriate drawings will be generated to allow the production team to build the item without the involvement of an engineer. This flexibility allows us to address a wide range of complexities and requirements while adhering to processes that assure only quality products are shipped to customers.

Our project coordinator ensures that all projects are completed on time and within budget. Our quality manager makes sure that processes have been followed and the finished product meets the acceptance criteria. Our security officer verifies that customer security needs are met and that the staff is following our safety procedures. Our technical leads make sure that technical solutions are solid and customers are satisfied, and the project manager ensures that these staff members have the time, money, and tools to create products that exceed customer expectations.

Quick Reaction Capabilities
When emergency, mission-critical needs arise, Sierra Peaks uses its Quick Reaction Capabilities to solve problems in a hurry. While this is not our preferred mode of operation, customers know that when they are in a hurry or get behind schedule, they can count on us to push solutions forward.
