Our Approach

Mission
“Meet or exceed customer expectations, have fun and make the world a better place.” We maintain an atmosphere that allows team members to do their best while enjoying their life. This results in customers getting what they expect as quickly as possible. We work as a team, share responsibility and credit. We promote innovation, creativity, quality and rapid response.

Security
All of our facilities are NISPOM compliant and all of our employees are expected to maintain security clearances. We have an FSO on staff at both facilities.

Total Quality Management, TQM, ISO 9000
Sierra Peaks has a complete TQM system in place. We are compliant with ISO 9000. We continually update our system, have training classes and modify our procedures to insure quality improvement at all times. We have written our policies to insure that they are not burdensome and can accommodate and promote a flexible, creative, quick work environment.

Project Management
Our management team adopts a project management methodology that is agile and facilitates rapid change as the project requires change. This is a common-sense approach using team collaboration involving our customer, engineers, technicians and management from the start.

Sierra Peaks Project Managers work to enable the designers, engineers, supervisors and artists/technicians to fully understand the customer's needs and provide creative solutions. When a new project comes in the door, available resources are reviewed to put the most capable team on the project. The project managers work with the customers to drill down into the requirements and develop designs that meet the customers scheduling, budgeting and quality needs. Project schedules are used to identify critical paths and illustrate individual responsibilities. Managers facilitate ‘Kick Off Meetings’ with all of the stakeholders on any project and reconvene ‘Assessment Meetings’ with this team any time a change in direction is imminent. We assign inventory items to their particular project shelf upon receipt and collect all of the information necessary to accomplish a job on the same inventory shelf. All of our jobs are described on a Job sheet that accompanies the work. This sheet designates those responsible for the work; objectives of the work, special instructions, schedule and indicates what information is available and required to complete the job.

Decades of experience/lessons learned help to avoid the small mistakes that can cause delays and added expenditures.

Quick Reaction Capability, QRC
Sierra Peaks prides itself in being able to accommodate occasional jobs that must be done now. We have designed and built small jobs over a week end or Christmas holiday and have accomplished larger integration jobs from contract to conclusion in as little as three months.

When a customer needs a solution in a short period of time, Sierra Peaks is ready to respond! Upon receiving the customer requirements, a project manager and a team of engineers will review the potential solutions and assemble a schedule and team that can meet the customer’s timeframe.

A Jumpstart ‘Kick Off’ meeting is held to consider conceptual designs and compile a list of items requiring further customer input. Project scheduling is used to identify critical paths and parallel efforts are followed to expedite completion.

Customer communication is critical to keep solutions simple and to maximize product testing before it is expedited to the customer. QRC projects get the highest priority for company resources in order to do the job correctly while maintaining our high quality standards in the compressed time frame. Sierra Peaks has a proven track record implementing our QRC approach for the US Government.
