Sierra Peaks Corporation develops and produces special equipment and provides technical consulting services, for US Government organizations and discriminating commercial enterprises. We approach our work with a high degree of creativity and flexibility. We are capable of rapid response to our customer’s challenges and requirements by implementing our proven Quick Reaction Capability (QRC).
Sierra Peaks is able to design and build technologically challenging systems involving; mechanical mechanisms; electronic controls; integrated computers; sensors; RF devices and, software. We can manufacture and package these systems in house using metals, wood, ceramic, fabric, leather and plastic. Typical systems designed and built by Sierra Peaks address very unique problems and situations for our customers and require a great deal of imagination, creativity, flexibility and dedication.

Management and Administration Sierra Peaks management and administration is second to none. Sierra Peaks is led by an experienced management team with diverse backgrounds that are deeply rooted in the engineering and sciences field. Our president has more than 30 years management and leadership experience, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and is an Air Force veteran. Our in house accountant is a NM CPA with 25 years experience. Our project managers each have 20 to 30 years experience leading projects. We have two recruiters each with 20 to 30 years experience. Our FSO has 40 years experience 30 of it in government service. We have two seasoned Business Development specialists one in Albuquerque and one in Virginia.
Mechanical Engineering Sierra Peaks has a team of five working in Mechanical Engineering. We use Solidworks as our primary design tool but we also have Autocad if that is more advantageous. Solidworks Professional includes software for doing finite element analysis for both stress and heat transfer. We have two 3D printers that greatly speed up the demonstration and testing side of machine design.
Electrical Engineering Sierra Peaks has four engineers providing electrical solutions for solving customer’s needs including designing circuits, modifying existing consumer electronics, and testing new concepts. Circuit design includes high-speed data acquisition and control systems for communications, avionics, geo-location, and imaging applications. Our systems superimpose battery, optics, digital design, wireless and radio frequency (RF) transmission, motors, analog design, antenna, printed-circuit board (PCB) and other technologies to create systems that are truly unique. Through reverse-engineering commercial products and then integrating them for new applications, our engineers have become a storehouse of techniques for providing quick, cost-effective solutions. In addition to prototype and production testing, we have experienced engineers doing environment and Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) testing to various standards (MIL-SPEC, FCC, FAA, customer supplied, etc.).
Software Engineering Sierra Peaks has three software engineers with extensive experience developing custom software applications on Windows and Linux, for the web, and on various embedded platforms including some running real-time operating systems. We write or modify software for high-speed data acquisition and control systems; business workflow and accounting systems; and cell phones, PDAs, and other smart devices. All of our developers are fluent in .Net, Java, SQL, and C++, and each of them has additionally mastered many other languages both old school and 4th generation for writing such things as device drivers or firmware on systems from the microcontroller on up including using many sizes of programmable devices (PAL, PROM, CPLD, FPGA) in multiple vendor environments (Xilinx, Altera, Atmel, Microchip, open source, etc.).

Sierra Peaks has a full time graphic artist who can design attractive instruction sheets, brochures and other graphic related print materials. He can illustrate concepts of projects that are being considered, create presentations, design web sites and other multi-media products.

Sierra Peaks has an extensive commercial sewing operation making and modifying handbags, backpacks, and clothing to accomplish out of the ordinary tasks. Our sewing facility is NISPOM compliant. We work in all types of fabric including leather and conductive fabrics.
Sierra Peaks has three team members who have made it their goal to be expert in knowing about all new fabrics and materials and fabrics that are entering the market; and knowing how to apply them. These materials include stress hardening materials, abrasion resistant materials, conductive materials, fabrics with conductive elements, light bending materials, reflective materials, changing materials and etc.

Our skills are typically used in the combination of multiple electrical and mechanical components to include Sensors, Conrol Systems, Power Supplies, Switches and Embedded Software into complete systems. An important element of our expertise is the selection and evaluation of suitable products and materials for more capable systems.

Given our team and facilities we are able to produce and test prototypes build limited productions of equipment involving Electronic Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, and Sewing. We use 3-D modeling, rendering and printing to produce working prototypes for various customer scenarios in a short period of time.

Our skilled recruiters allow us to select and place highly skilled engineers, technicians and administrative staff in Sierra Peaks as well as in customer facilities. This staff augmentation is for Science and Engineering Technical Assistance, SETA, administration or technician support.

Sierra Peaks headquarters occupies approximately 25,000 sf. in two adjoining buildings in Albuquerque New Mexico. This facility is our main operation including administration, engineering, manufacturing and testing. In this facility our manufacturing equipment includes: 35 industrial sewing machines, electronic assembly, PC board population, 3D printers, woodworking, plastic casting, environmental testing, clicker presses, welding, sheet metal tools, NC machining and support equipment for all of these things.
Our Fairfax Virginia facility occupies 1500 sf. In this facility we provide project administration, sewing design and manufacturing, mechanical assembly and testing.

Jeff Bryce, Vice President Operations
Jeff Bryce has 20 years experience in running all aspects of a company' s operation. He spent 10 years in the petroleum industry doing mechanical design, managing projects and supervising construction. Mr. Bryce' s operational expertise comes from managing small refinery projects to large-scale complex telecommunications construction projects. Since joining Sierra Peaks in 2005, Mr. Bryce has applied his operational experience in managing the various complex product and services projects serving the Federal Government. Mr. Bryce has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University .
Dave Mayberry, Senior Project Manager
Dave Mayberry has over 20 years experience in the management, design, and development of complex electronic and computer-based systems. Mr. Mayberry is the company' s lead innovator and quality control manager on all projects involving electronic and mechanical products and services. He is particularly knowledgeable in “Smart Fabrics”.
Rob Maynard, Finance and Accounting
Rob Maynard is responsible for all financial reporting and accounting operations at Sierra Peaks . He is a certified public accountant (CPA) with over 25 years experience. Mr. Maynard' s diverse leadership roles include managing accounting and financial operations for both small and large organizations. His experience in reporting, tax, and compliance provides a solid foundation for company operations. He also has an extensive background in implementing back office enterprise resource management systems and solid knowledge of information technology and integration requirements. He has a BS in Accounting from New Hampshire College and his CPA license was granted in New Hampshire in 1993.
John Kiegel, Business Development
John Kiegel is the lead for Business Development activities for the company. Mr. Kiegel, a graduate from the University of Arizona , brings a technical and business background to Sierra Peaks having spent over 20 years working closely with people to build relationships and meet client needs. Mr. Kiegel has spent the last 10 years in sales and marketing in the Government sector focusing on computer technology and other high technology areas to include audio/video, GPS, and other sensors. In addition to promotional skills, Mr. Kiegel has a solid understanding of government contracting and general contract management and has been vital to the company's growth and success in capturing new business.
Nancy Troutman, Human Resources
Nancy Troutman is responsible for Human Resources (HR) including personnel management, recruiting and benefits planning for the company. Ms. Troutman has over 25 years experience in community relations and recruiting for both non-profit and for profit organizations in New Mexico and Washington , DC . She also has experience as an operations manager for one of the world' s largest healthcare organizations where she gained valuable experience in HR compliance reporting and corporate HR management. Ms. Troutman joined Sierra Peaks in 2005 and works closely with the management team to identify corporate staffing needs and continuously reviews and implements new/revised company benefits and plans. Ms. Troutman has been instrumental in bringing on-board key staff for projects located in Albuquerque , New Mexico.

Marpac is a medical device manufacturing company that shares administrative services with Sierra Peaks. Marpac mass produces sewn medical products and sells them all over the world.
