About Us

Sierra Peaks has a 40 year history of developing electromechanical systems to meet our customers demanding operational challenges.

Our history begins in 1960 when several Universal Match Corporation employees purchased a controlling interest in Missouri Research Laboratory, (MRL) in St. Louis. In 1974 Ralph Anderson moved to Albuquerque, NM with a chemical and mechanical division of MRL to support Sandia National Laboratories along with other customers. In 1981 Ralph Anderson purchased this division and formed General Technology Corporation, (GTC) to continue the chemical and mechanical work. In 1991 Jim Ball purchased the mechanical section from GTC and formed Special Projects Corporation, (SPC). John Rockwell purchased SPC in 2000 and renamed it Sierra Peaks Corporation.

Since 2000 Sierra Peaks has grown to accommodate a much broader engineering and technical skill set. We have added a staff of mechanical, electrical and software engineers to strengthen our previous technical skills in mechanical, electronic and textile manufacturing.

We have also added a very competent management and administrative staff. Along with this growth in capability we expanded from a 6000 sf. facility to a 25,000 sf. facility in Albuquerque, NM and a 1500 sf. facility in Fairfax, VA. Both sites are NISPOM compliant and our accounting system is capable of handling all of the requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
